The good news is: we are in the beautiful Northern cities of Natal and Recife. The bad news is: we’ve got Germany, Portugal, and Ghana in our group, and have to play in Brazil’s Tijuana, Manaus. The U.S. will play its first game against Ghana, the team that eliminated the Americans in the last two World Cups, and Germany, the team that has humiliated the U.S. in multiple World Cups, the most notable time in France 1998. The U.S. will have the most difficult travel schedule, having to cover nearly 9,000 miles for its three group-play matches. Yay, Brazil 2014.
