Brazil: Corruption Trial a Good Sign

The combination of the prospect of the World Cup in 2014 and the Rio Olympics in 2016 make it the perfect time to “clean up the house” a little bit.  If you know you’re going to have company come pay a visit, you want to try to put out your good china, and keep your skeletons hidden well in the closet.  Well, a high court trial of a political corruption case, whose main defendant is an ex-aide of an ex-president,  is seen as a signal of change in Brazil.  Perhaps Brazil is on a an irreversible path to world dominance or perhaps they’re just acting.  Either way, the next several years will be interesting.
