Brazil: Man, 69, begins Rio-to-Alaska Motorcycle Trip

A 69-year-old man has begun a solo Rio de Janeiro-to-Alaska round trip on a motocycle. Augusto Lins e Silva hopes to become the oldest person to ride 34,175 miles on a solo trip.
Lins e Silva set out his Yamaha XT660 on Saturday afternoon. He hopes to be back in Brazil in six months.
Close friend Mario Silva says that Lins e Silva will travel through South and Central America before reaching New Mexico and heading on to Ancorage via San Fracisco, Seattle and Vancouver.
