In some eyes, unfortunately, Brazil is still the country of tomorrow, and always will be. For example, just two years ago it all seemed to be coming together for the host of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.. Preparations for the 2014 Cup were well underway and would be quickly followed by the 2016 Games. The soaring price of commodities were funding an unprecedented infrastructure spend that would make Brazil the shining star of South America. However, a funny thing happened on the way to Copacabana. Regarding Brazil, the “bloom is off the rose” for some, but not for me. Brazil has so much upside, it’s hard to continue to be pessimistic. And, you figure, they’ve got to get it together soon. They’ve got too much at stake.
