Plan Well to Avoid Excessive Taxes in Brazil

Brazil is a lot like the United States. Local, State, and the Federal governments look at big corporations as a robust and wealthy target for revenue. Foreign companies doing business in Brazil should carefully plan ahead to minimize the heavy tax burden imposed by the Brazilian government, specifically when concerning infraction fees. Tax officials generally issue infraction notices as soon as they spot a potential mistake, even if there has been no loss of revenue—and even if their interpretation is unlikely to prevail. But, the good news in Brazil is that there seems to be a legitimate mechanism to dispute the tax.
