SBA Communications Goes Deep and Wide into Brazil

Those maps that the wireless companies use to show their area “coverage” leave a lasting impression. How much of the country is orange vs. how much of the actual population is covered. Because truth be told, I don’t care if I have wireless coverage in West BFE, so long as I have it in Westchester. Well SBA Communications, the Boca Raton-based company wireless company, is trying to create its own map in Brazil. They recently purchased about 800 communications towers from broadband wireless carrier Telefonica’s Vivo SA division for about $178 million. I wonder if the colors on their map in Brazil will be blue, green, and yellow.
